About Us

Bhutan Sharing & Loving Youths
Bhutan Sharing & Loving Youths, hereinafter referred to as BSLY, is a youth volunteer group formed in 2014 aimed at, above all, developing the spirit of voluntarism among the youths for various social causes of importance, for a better and vital society. The group has hitherto worked alongside different social organizations by providing support and man power to them during their important programs and events.

Considering voluntarism and social activities cardinal to a vital and responsive society, BSLY also works toward developing the sense of responsibility and cause among the youth. Although there are different NGOs, all working for the cause of society, in Bhutan, one prime constraint faced by many of them is the inadequate human force during events and programs. To ease this constraint, BSLY will provide its voluntary manpower services to the activities of the NGOs, which are for social good.
The members of BSLY are youth who join the group entirely on voluntary basis.

Background
Bhutan Sharing & Loving Youths is a group of volunteers volunteering for a good cause. We organize social services and provide support to needy.
This group was initiated around 2013-2014 winter upon suggestion from some parents to engage their children in productive activities during the vacation. Formerly, we functioned with no name and our major initiatives were mostly during school vacations. We later started to meet during weekends and government holidays too.

In 2016, while joining a mass cleaning campaign to clean the drain along the Norling-Druk Shopping Complex area (Dondrup Lam-Norzin Lam 2) in Thimphu, we were asked for the name of our group to be written on the campaign banner. Upon much discussion and debates among our active members, we came up with the name “Bhutan Sharing & Loving Youths” or in short “BSLY”.
